What is Student Life?
Student Life is part of Campus Crusade for Christ; a worldwide movement with ministries in over 192 countries. Student Life's mission is fourfold;

  • - to WIN students to Christ through evangelism
  • - to BUILD students up in their faith through discipleship
  • - to TRAIN students in basic evangelism
  • - to SEND those students out to reach others!

Lauree Cross; Student Life at the University of Waikato

Article Pic In January 2005 I shifted from being part of Student Life Auckland to being part of Student Life Waikato. Well I've survived being South of the Bombay's for almost 2 years. The campus, the students, the surroundings, are all different, but one thing stays the same; people still need Jesus!

Despite initial impressions I have seen that many students are thinking about the spiritual side of life. It's so neat to see God at work in their hearts and lives as I come alongside them and explore with them who Jesus is, and how He is relevant to them personally.

It is so exciting to get to do what I do on campus! I get to talk to people about Jesus; His death, life & resurrection and what that means for us personally! I get to see God at work in students lives! I get to see students coming to Christ, built up in their faith, trained to share that faith and then ultimately being sent to impact others for Christ... and to start the process all over again!

Athletes in Action is the sports ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, taking the gospel to the world of sports. Its purpose is to use the platform that athletes have to help reach New Zealanders for Christ by:

  • Winning sportspeople to Christ
  • Building them in their faith
  • Training them to be multiplying disciples
  • Sending them out to impact the lives of others

Athletes in Action works with a range of sports clubs and representative sides and organises various outreach events and sports tours, both nationally and internationally. They also work alongside major sporting events such as the Olympic Games.
