Pastoral Care
Part of being a church family is looking after one another. As a church we seek to foster practical care-giving with our community by meeting real needs in practical ways. Often this simply involves visiting, listening, encouraging, sharing and praying with those who are hurting. When appropriate, needs are referred to counsellors or other professionals who can provide specialised care. We also provide practical care such as meals, in particular situations.A primary source of pastoral care at Shore happens through the Life Group ministry. Life Groups provide an avenue through which the caring for families and individuals can take place. When a need is beyond the resources of a Life Group, the pastoral care coordinator helps to assess the needs and seeks to co-ordinate the necessary support from the elders, prayer team, and outside resources.
