About Us

Shore Community Christian Church is a community of people seeking to love God, love people and follow Jesus. We exist to help realise God's dream for the world by bringing his kingdom (Jesus' term for God's plan for humanity) to earth in practical ways. God's kingdom is not simply a ‘spiritual' kingdom that exists in our hearts, but is a revolution of love that brings God's kindness and grace to bear on a messed up world. By modelling a community of faith, hope and love, and reaching out to those around us with the love and message of Jesus, we're helping to make that kingdom a reality everyday.   

At Shore, we emphasise five "golden threads," values that underpin everything we do:

• Reaching - helping people discover Jesus, and demonstrating his love to people outside the church in practical ways.
• Worshipping - gathering to honour God through music and the arts, communion, and teaching based on the Bible.
• Growing - helping one another move toward spiritual maturity by becoming more like Jesus.
• Caring - loving and encouraging each other in practical ways.
• Praying - weaving prayer into every one of these areas.
